Warning Message:This is a Special Weather Statement to aid in the Rescue and
recovery efforts in central Oklahoma.
Through 230 am...storms across southern Oklahoma have shifted off
to the east...with new updrafts developing across
Pottawatomie...Seminole...Pontotoc and Hughes counties. This
activity is expected to hold south of the okc Metro/Newcastle-
Moore recovery operation through the early morning. Surface
analysis shows a more well defined cold front from northwestern
Oklahoma southwest through western North Texas. Through
sunrise...there could be some additional development along this
line...but overall...it appears in the near term...the weather
will remain quiet. Of the storms that do develop across south
central OK this morning...a few may reach severe limits...but the
majority will stay below...with gusty winds and small hail.
Additional storms will develop tomorrow afternoon...possibly as
far northwest as the Interstate 44 corridor...including the
Oklahoma City and Moore areas. Some of these storms may be
severe. We will be working overnight to refine tuesday's severe
weather forecast.
